How to prepare your skin for red light therapy...

Throughly cleanse and/or gently exfoliate your skin. Remove any mineral-based products and any make-up or skincare products containing sunscreen. Do not apply any at home skincare products as they may contain ingredients that can block the absorption of red-light wavelengths.

Sunscreens generally don't block the red light wavelengths. However, zinc oxide reflects light, which means there is a chance that fewer therapeutic light photons will absorb into the skin. So it's best not to wear sunscreen before your red light therapy session.

What is the recommended use for red light therapy?

It is recommended to start with 20 minute sessions, 3-5 times per week for the first 1-4 weeks, then 2-3 times per week for the following 4-12 weeks, and finally 1-2 times per week to maintain results.
